Ben 10 DVDs – Episodes & Films
The amazingly popular children’s cartoon called Ben 10 is about a young boy who has alien powers and can transform into a number of aliens using a watch-like contraption called the Omnitrix. No doubt your child will have missed at least a few of the episodes on TV or wants to watch them so often that you figure buying them one or more DVDs would be a good idea. If you have ever looked to buy a Ben 10 DVD online you will know that the choice can seem complicated. They can be titled as either series, seasons or volumes and there are also three films that may pop up on your radar. If you would like a bit of a clue as to which is which please read on.
There are currently two series of Ben 10 cartoons – the original series and the Alien Force sequel. We are promised a third called Evolutions but it is not airing yet. If you find the Complete Series DVD you will be getting the whole 49 episodes of the first series along with the animated film called ‘Secret Of The Omnitrix’ on this 12 disk set. Volumes are the DVDs that contain the least amount of footage. They only contain either 4 or 5 episodes. Seasons are mid range DVDs containing 13 episodes on 3 disks. The more disks you get the better value for money the DVDs are. In the UK the range is slightly more limited than in the US as only the first 18 episodes of the original series are available on Volume DVDs. If you want to watch the later episodes the only way to buy them is via the Complete Series box set.
As well as the cartoon episodes there are also three Ben 10 films available. The first ‘Secret Of The Omnitrix’ is animated and included in the Complete Series box set or can be bought separately. The first live action film to be made was ‘Ben 10 Race Against Time’ and this has recently been followed by ‘Ben 10 Alien Swarm’ which shows the aliens from the Alien Force cartoon sequel as well as a few new ones.
