Don’t Just Buy the First Portable Closet You See
There are some questions that should be answered before you make your choice as to which portable closet you should buy. Although these things by their very nature are not meant to act as a permanent home for your clothes you should be able to rely on them lasting for a reasonable amount of time.
The reality is that many of these portable closets are very flimsy creations and contain design flaws that don’t take into account the potential weight they are supposed to carry. The result is that if you buy a poorly constructed closet it will soon collapse under the weight of clothes. Reports are also commonly heard that the racks or the plastic framework tends to snap or fail.
For this reason it is advised that you don’t make your choice of portable closet based on price alone. Sure, you can buy a portable closet for under $30 but it is doubtful that the product you get will be usable at all. If the closet collapses the first time you use it, the bargain you thought you found will actually turn out to cost you even more than if you had bought the sturdier one first.
The next feature you have to determine is just how portable your portable closet actually is. It should be possible to move the closet from one room to the other without having it fall apart on the way and so a set of roller wheels should be on the base of the closet.
If possible you should also try to find out how easy it is to assemble and disassemble the portable closet. Because it won’t always be in use there will be times when you will want to dismantle it and store it away somewhere making its ease of breaking down a necessity.
Try not to simply race out to your local hardware store and buy the first new portable closet you come across. The chances are it will be unable to deliver the storage quality you would prefer for your clothes.
