Finding a new Location for your Static Caravan.
Static caravans are not often moved as it is quite expensive so they are normally sited in one location for a number of years. Special attention should be given to deciding where you want to place your static caravan and this normally is something to do with where you like to take your holidays.
There are a number of different things to take into consideration;
1. Travelling time from your house to your caravan’s location.
2. What is the length of time you will spend at your caravan?
3. In the area local to your caravan what attractions are there and what are the local facilities like?
Once you have decided the general area that you would like to site your caravan, take the opportunity to visit all the caravan parks in the local area to see what they have to offer. You should check a number of factors;
• What particular site on the caravan park is on offer?
• Does the caravan park have a close season and when is it?
• What facilities are available on the park?
• How much is the cost to site your caravan?
• What are the rules and regulations for the park? IE do they allow pets?

You’ll have to pay a regular site fee to the caravan park to keep it they’re all year. Prices vary depending on which part of the country you are in and what facilities are on offer. Make sure you ask each caravan park for an updated price list and check how often the price rises.
Don’t forget the static caravan uses both gas and electricity to power. Some caravan parks charge extra for the electrical hook up, make sure you understand how much you will be paying before signing any contracts. Gas comes in a separate bottle and will normally be up to you to sort out.
Static caravan insurance is needed similarly to that of a house or car. It will cover you for anything from vandalism to weather damage to accidental damage but be sure to read the small print for details of each and every policy.
Static caravans like houses require some general up keep and maintenance.
Don’t forget, many people live in static caravans as a full time home so they are a lot more convenient than people realise. If you do decide to buy one, take the time to not only put it in a good location but also to not be overcharged for doing so.
