Synthetic Grass Is Becoming More Accepted
Synthetic grass as a landscaping option is slowly growing in acceptance among the wider community. It wasn’t very long ago that people were extremely vocal in their opposition of this kind of replacement for natural grass, but there appears to be a shift in attitude. This is a positive thing and not only for the artificial grass industry, which will benefit as demand starts to rise.
One of the leading reasons for the acceptance of synthetic grass into the backyard is the understanding that the health warnings that were raised about the product do not apply to residential synthetic grass. This is a safe product that uses eco-friendly products when manufacturing both the grass blades and the infill.
Similarly, the concerns that the grass looked obviously fake have also largely been removed thanks to the work that has gone into making sure the grass looks as real as possible. In many cases it is almost impossible to tell the difference between synthetic grass and natural grass until you get up very close to examine it.
With more and more parts of the country falling under tight water restrictions, there is increasing difficulty in maintaining a lush green lawn. In some cases it’s difficult to maintain a dying brown lawn as the dirt patches expand and begin to dominate the entire front yard. When searching around for an alternative to grass, you have pavers, concrete or synthetic grass as your choices. Why not use a product that is going to look as attractive as natural grass rather than the hard surface of the other choices?
For people who are growing older and are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their yards, synthetic grass is a sensible choice. By installing synthetic grass you are immediately removing the chore of mowing the grass every week. Not only is this a benefit to your time but it is a benefit to the environment. Running the lawnmower every weekend uses up a fuel source that is non-renewable and is a pollutant.
Make no mistake, synthetic grass also requires some maintenance to keep it looking at its best. Every few weeks it will have to be cleaned if there is a build up of leaves or dirt, both of which can settle into the pile and allow bacteria to grow not to mention the fact that it can make the grass look plain grubby. Brushing the grass with a stiff brush and a quick hose down should bring your synthetic grass lawn back to looking fresh and new again.
As you can see, there are many reasons for the average homeowner to seriously consider replacing their natural grass with a synthetic grass lawn.
